Welcome...

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty...
... at Calvary.

The Fear of the Lord

I started a series on the fear of the Lord yesterday.  Of course, because I use the book of Proverbs for my daily devotions the subject is not new to me.  I believe that all Christians understand the fear of the Lord, but there seems to be resistance to it in our modern day.  The Bible from Genesis to Revelation speaks of the fear of the Lord in various terms.  Solomon speaks of the fear of the Lord as the foundation principle for life and is associated closely with knowledge and wisdom.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction(Proverbs 1:7)."

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding (Proverbs 9:10)."

 Come, study with me the fear of the Lord.  I will try to leave my thoughts every day or so.  Feel free to leave me comments, so we can learn together the full meaning of the fear of the Lord.
